Current Fire and Firework Restrictions for the Town of Manila

The Town of Manila has lifted the Stage 2 fire restrictions, effective August 21, 2026. Residential fire pits within Town limits are now allowed, provided the property has running water. Residents are reminded to use all fires safely and responsibly and to comply with applicable fire-safety requirements.

Stage 2 Fire Restrictions Lifted in the Town of Manila

Effective August 21, 2026

The Town of Manila is pleased to announce that Stage 2 Fire Restrictions within the Town of Manila have been lifted, effective August 21, 2026.

With the lifting of Stage 2 restrictions, residents may once again use residential fire pits within the Town limits, provided running water is available at the property. 

What This Means for Manila Residents

Beginning August 21, 2026:

• Residential backyard fire pits within the Town of Manila are allowed when the property has running water.

• Residents are still encouraged to use extreme caution and practice responsible fire safety.

• Never leave a fire unattended, and always make sure a fire is completely extinguished before leaving it.

Important Information for Surrounding Public Lands

Fire restrictions are determined by the individual land-management agency and may differ outside the Town of Manila.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is expected to rescind its Stage 2 order on BLM-managed lands. However, residents and visitors should verify the current restrictions before having a fire on BLM property.

Tribal lands and National Park Service lands will remain under Stage 2 fire restrictions at this time.

The Ashley National Forest currently has no fire restrictions.

Please remember that the lifting of restrictions within the Town of Manila does not automatically the State of Utah lift restrictions on surrounding federal, tribal, or National Park Service lands.

The Town encourages everyone to continue practicing good fire safety and to check current restrictions before traveling outside Town limits.

If your plans include the Ashley National Forest or surrounding mountain areas, we strongly recommend checking the current restrictions before your trip. For the most up-to-date information regarding the Flaming Gorge Ranger District, please contact their Manila office at (435) 784-3445.

With continued cooler, wet weather and changing fire conditions, restrictions may be updated with little notice. We encourage all residents and visitors to stay informed by monitoring current state and federal fire restrictions before recreating outdoors.
