Town of Manila – Landfill Information

Manila operates a Class II landfill.

Hours of Operation

Summer Hours (April 1 – September 30):

• Every Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM
• Every Saturday: 7:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Winter Hours (October 1 – March 31):

• Every Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM
• First Saturday of each month: 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Please note:

• The landfill will be closed on holidays that fall on a Tuesday or Saturday.
• The landfill may also close due to high winds, inclement weather, or water/sewer emergencies.

A sign located approximately ¼ mile south of Hwy 43 on Hwy 44 indicates whether the landfill is open or closed.

Landfill Rates

• Pickup load: $20.00
• Greens (only): $10.00 per load
• Large trailer (e.g., horse trailer): $20.00 per axle
• Unsecured loads: $100.00 + dump fee
• Batteries: $10.00 per battery
• Dump/Garbage/Construction trucks: $80.00 per ton

Special Materials:
Contaminated soil, asphalt, concrete, and other special waste will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Important Reminders

• Please separate all materials (household garbage, metal, wood, greens, etc.) before entering the landfill.
• Plan to exit by 11:30 AM to allow for gate closure at 12:00 PM.

Additional Information

Pre-paid Landfill Cards:
The Town no longer sells or accepts pre-paid landfill cards.

Curbside Garbage Service:

• Available to Manila residents for $20.00 per month (starting July 1st, 2026).
• Non-residents are responsible for their own garbage disposal but may contact Town Hall for available options

Garbage Containers:
Per Resolution 11-09-18, residents must use a proper container with a secure lid.

• Non-compliance will result in a $5.00 additional charge per pickup
